Garage Storage Rules
Storage in garage areas shall be limited to and governed as follows:
Residents may use their garages for storage if sufficient space has been reserved for vehicle parking.
In relation to garages, storage is only permitted in existing enclosed storage cabinets (defined below) and the area immediately adjacent to the back wall of the garage for a distance of three (3) feet from the wall and up to the wall and eight (8) feet long and no more than six (6) feet high (therefore the total storage permitted is one hundred and forty-four [144] cubic feet).
No items shall be stored to the side and/or behind any vehicle unless they are light weight and affixed to the garage wall and out of the way of vehicle traffic and permit sufficient head room for a person to walk in the garage while a vehicle is parked therein.
It should be noted that each garage is a “double car garage” and therefore contains room for two (2) vehicles. Each unit has been assigned one-half (1/2) of a total garage and the Rules contained herein governing garage storage apply to each assigned one-half (1/2) garage space and the person to whom said one-half (1/2) garage area is assigned is responsible for compliance with the storage rules.
The phrase “Existing enclosed storage cabinets” shall mean cabinets permanently affixed to a unit prior to January 1, 1978.
Garage doors must remain closed and locked at all times unless the person who is occupying the premises is using and actually present at the garage.
Owners/renters may use the vehicle area of their garage space for storage during a change of ownership/renters or a remodel process for additional storage for a temporary period of time not to exceed 30 days. Owners/Renters must inform Manor Association (615) 637-1616 of the BEGIN and END dates BEFORE vehicle area of their garage space is used for either of the temporary storage allowances listed. All other requests to use garage vehicle space for storage other than a vehicle must be approved by the Board.
